American Travel Center was established in the early 1980's by the Lovell family in Logan, IA. In 1985, the agency relocated to Missouri Valley, IA and still remains in the same building today. That same year, Joni Neese began working as an agent and in 1988 she purchased the agency from Lovell's. Soon thereafter, additional agencies were opened in Onawa and Glenwood, IA and Wahoo and Lincoln, NE, to accommodate the growing customer base. Starr Maasen joined the staff in 1989 as the part-time bookkeeper/office personnel and then became a full-time agent. In July 2008, Joni Neese retired and sold the agency to Quest Adventures. Starr remained working at the agency and became the manager. Paula Prine joined the staff to run our Council Bluffs location, newly opened in summer 2011.
